Don't go without it.
I bought this product 1 yr ago on the recommendation of a Kiehls skincare person. I have used it in the am. everyday for the year. This product provides a moisturizing effect, a smoothing to fine lines and I feel it enhances the other products that I use daily on my face.. It provides a kind of barrier from the bad stuff that cause harm to the skin...Then, I stopped using it for 3 days only, (Trip) The difference that I felt in my skin were, daily lackluster of skin tone, make up fade and at nite noticeable dryness. Now, I read to use Twice daily, yay, I will be " on it", I can only imagine the good results using as directed. I love this product

A tall glass of water for your uber thirsty face
Think back to a time you’ve experienced heartbreak. Now pretend that right after your heart was broken a strange old woman comes and rubs liquid velvet on your face, hands you a plate of cookies, and compliments your outfit.
That’s sort of how I’d describe this product. It feels AMAZING after you wash your face, and everything that once was lost, namely the natural facial lubricants you lost during cleansing, begins to regenerate. And then, as an added bonus, all of the products you apply after cleansing become super charged.
Press 3 drops into your face after cleansing and toning. Your skin will thank you.

I tried this new essence looking for some type of serum to use before my moisturizer. I already use a toner so wanted something more. I was pleasantly surprised at this Iris Essence- it's not quite a serum, nor anywhere near as expensive as many serums can be, but it has more of a silky texture to it, unlike a toner. It has a lovely floral fragrance. All you need is 2 or 3 tiny drops for your whole face and neck--more is really too much--so it will last a very long time. I like the botanical and other ingredients, so I am really liking it so far! I use it morning and evening, after cleansing, toning and before moisturizing.

A little goes a long way
I bought this product after a facial at the Kiehl's spa. I was skeptical at first because it was a HUGE bottle, but the woman who did my facial said just use a few drops on your skin after cleansing, before applying anything else. I've been using it for 4 months now and I do see a difference in the texture of my skin. It's much softer and more hydrated.
I use 5 drops only on my face and neck, and that's plenty. I follow it up with a serum and facial oil before applying foundation. It absorbs quickly and has a pleasant fragrance.
This bottle will last me into the next decade!

Little Known- Big Results
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a packet sample of this product and didn't know what it was. I ended up applying it like a toner, probably using too much of it. But in the morning, my skin seemed more radiant and glowing.
I love the scent of this product, it's very herbal and natural. It seems to be more of a serum so I imagine that a 6.8 oz bottle would last quite a long time, making it an economical purchase.
I could never find this product on the Kiehls site, I had to do a search for it to even find it. Hopefully, it is being plugged more and will get more exposure since it's an awesome product that smells great and leaves your skin smooth and refreshed.

Great as a First or Second Step after Cleansing
Love this product! I have dry skin that can look dull at times. After trying this product from a sample I received, people started to compliment me, saying my skin was glowing. I noticed the difference when I ran out of the sample and my skin didn't have that same glow. Needless to say, got the full size as soon as I could. After trying this product, I realized the importance of the skincare steps: toner, essence/serum, and moisturizer. This product has the perfect viscosity for hydration between the toner and moisturizer. So highly recommend for dry skin and all skin types during the winter months.

Wonderful product
I have been using another essense by SK-II for 6 years, but when I stumbled upon this one by Kiehls I had to give it a try. The Iris Essence is a little thicker and 'silkier' than the SK-II. You only need about two -three drops. While it's being absorbed I pat on my eye cream then finally my facial moisturizer. I have been using this product for about one week and so far I am very happy with the results. My face feels more supple in the morning and I feel that my moisturizer is more effective.

I bought this oh a whim. After reading all the great reviews I HAD to go get it. I've only used this product twice, but so far i'm loving it! It takes a minute for your skin to soak it up. But once it does your skin is glowing! I use it morning and night right after I tone and before i use any of my other serums. This was advised to me buy one of the ladies that works in kiehls. A must have in your daily and nightly routine!
Oh and the smell is wonderful! Not overpowering at all!
