A sceptic...no more!
I have large pores and oily skin. I saw this product and was thinking "yeah right, another pore minimizer and oil reducer!!" When I put it on, it felt like there was nothing on my skin. This made me even more... a sceptic...until I saw the results!! My skin had no shine and no pores! No way!! I put on my makeup and my skin looked like glass. Clay absorbs oil...for a matte glow.
The results were amazing. I love this product. Did not break me out and kept my skin from getting oily...ALL DAY. :-)
To me it's almost like a light primer...without that "clogged up" feeling. I would recommend this to anyone with oily skin and large pores.

refines skin after first use but so gentle
I tried this when I asked the representative at the Kiehl's counter for a "stronger" tonic because I wanted something that would give my face a more matte finish and tighten my pores. I have combination sensitive skin so I feel like i am always sacrificing one element for the other-a product that fights breakouts usually strips my skin and one that doesn't usually causes some whiteheads. I am so glad she recommended this as it is not "strong" in the sense of striping my face but has helped clear up my nose and small blemishes on my cheeks without drying. I love the way this makes my face feel. I generally use it at night and then I use the cucumber tonic during the day as I find it works better under foundation. I LOVE this tonic, I wish I had known about it years ago. Totally worth the price.

Problem Solved!
This does exactly what it says it does. I have fairly normal skin at age 50 but the pores round my nose have always been large. On my chin and where my glasses rest on my nose were becoming clogged. I bought this to use just on those areas. I have noticed a big difference in just a weeks time. My pores are not 'smaller' but they are cleaner and don't seem to stand out as much when I am not wearing make up (which is 80% of the time). I use the Ultra toner on the rest of my skin as my cheeks and forehead have very small pores but I would highly recommend this product to anyone that is having a pore issue at any age.

It's Good, But Not For Me...
I like the idea of this toner; however, I personally don't have oily enough skin to fully benefit from this toner. It's great if you are looking for that matte finish and to not feel dry after.
You'll notice the clay pools to the bottom of this bottle, so you'll want to shake it up before you use it. Also, don't use a cotton pad to apply this toner, as the cotton pad will soak the clay particles up and be useless to your skin.

LOVE!
I love this tonic. I use it everyday in the afternoon after I wash off my day of make up. It is cool, light, and so refreshing. My skin just looks so GREAT: the tone. the texture. my smaller pores. I use this tonic (afternoon) and also the Cucumber Toner (\morning)...and the combination of using both in my daily skin care routine is amazing. Kiehls, you have the best products...everything I've bought from you has improved my skin..and I couldn't ask for more! I highly recommend this tonic.

Interesting... and amazing!
I sampled the Rare Earth Tonic on the back of my hand while trying to waste time at an airport. Much to my surprise, the patch on my hand where I had put it still felt different from the rest of my hand hours later. Matte, but not dry. I was impressed enough that I bought a bottle and I absolutely LOVE it. Along with the Rare Earth Cleanser it has helped to clear a ton of black heads out of the unfortunately large pores that I have on my face. It keeps the shine away all day long. It has only a light smell of alcohol to it. There's no burn or discomfort. As long as the bottle gets a good shake to mix the clay around, it's pretty hard to make it uneven. And it's great under make-up if you're into powders only - I don't know about cream foundations. I can't say thank you enough to Kiehl's for creating this incredible product!

I'm not a 'skin care' kind of bloke but...
ok so I'm mid forties I'm not the vain type but I still got spots, quite a few around the mouth almost daily(mmm perhap those packets of digestives don't help... :-)). Tried various skin scub types things but nothing really helped.
Came across Kiehls in London, gobsmacked at the price. I'm a bloke, £17 for a bottle of tonic, your kidding right?
Hey guess what, it's cheap I don't get spots now. Last me about 4 months eachone.
Also my 19 year son, lots of spots too, tried everything under the sun, even antibiotics, no real change,eating healthy, no change. Sounding like an advert I said to him 'well you know this stuff has worked for me'... and guess what it's worked for him! I'm really surprised because I know there are different causes for teenage versus 'mature person' spots, but hey! He's spot free for some time now. I'm delighted for him.

I think alll of the RARE EARTH products are fantastic, absolutely 100% perfect for my skin, in store I had a skin test then the woman went through what was right for me. She reccomned a full daily skin routine, total of which came to £82.50 I had to have a long think as that is a lot of money to anyone for creams.
I took the plunge and I will NEVER look back! what a stunning product! does exactly what it says it will! NOTHING puts a price on the way you look and feel! this product range will give you so much confidence and make you YOU!
