it's the face cleaner i've been looking for.
i never tried the prior formulation, so i can't compare. but for me, this is perhaps my perfect face cleanser. it foams just the right amount. has just the right amount of exfoliating ingredients so that it feels properly cleansed but not overly so. my skin always looks bright and fresh after i use it. and, as someone who is 48, with aging skin, who has hit perimenopause, it has helped immensely with my dry skin. it was getting to the point where i was having so much dead skin on my cheeks and chin that if i rubbed my face, skin would come off on my fingers. no more since using this product. and my skin looks less dull and ragged.

Horrible Product Change!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What is going on at Kiehls?! Why would you change a great product?! This new formula is horrible! It doesn't rinse cleanly and takes forever to get off. When applying my moisturizer, I can still feel little beads on my face. First you got rid of the Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser so I had to switch to this because the Ultra Facial Cleanser is way too harsh. Now you changed this product by combining the face wash and the exfoliator. Just Horrible! I've been using your products for many, many years but sorry, Kiehls, I am DONE! Looking for a whole new product line!

Love!
I am surprised to see so many negative reviews for this cleanser because I love it and it has had wonderful effects on my skin. It seems like most of the negative reviews are coming from those who used a previous product that has been discontinued and are disappointed that this product is not comparable, rather than looking at it as a new and different product. This cleanser makes my skin look and feel visibly smoother and softer. I have milia-prone skin, and i this exfoliator is helping to prevent new milia from forming - my skin has not looked this good in quite some time! Will continue to use.

You will love it! Such a clean feeling!
I’ve used this product for as long as I have been able to afford good facial products. I’m almost 40 so about 15 years or so and I absolutely love it! If I don’t have it and have to use something else to cleanse my face, I just don’t feel like my face is actually clean. My teen daughter also started using it a few years ago and it has helped so much with her teen breakouts. Yes, I was a little worried when the change happened (no longer using plastic beads in it for exfoliation) but Kiehls did what was best for the environment and quite honestly us too as it’s much better for our skin to use a natural exfoliant. I still really love this product and you will too!

Do not buy
I thought the bad reviews were maybe not true and decided to try the new one out but i was extremely disappointed. After religiously using the old one i thought they couldnt have replaced the old one with something worse but they did. This new cleanser does nothing for my skin. I might as well not even wash it it really does NOTHING for my skin. The old one was amazing so clean and refreshing and made my skin look so bright. I miss it so much. I have never felt this way about a product so i am just so sad. I hope the old one comes back PLEASE. dont waste your money on the new one. take my advice!

Worked for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I can’t compare this to the cleanser that others have referenced that was discontinued from this line. I also received this as a sample. Personally, it’s done good things for my skin. I’ve noticed a brighter complexion and some reduction in dark spots (I was also using a sample of their dark spot serum, so that could be helping as well). I’ve also used it daily and I find that it exfoliates without irritating my skin, and I’m usually very sensitive to that.
The sample is enough for me to pull the trigger on a full size, but I think one thing is clear: if you can try before you buy, do it.

Not impressed overall
I bought this product as a replacement for the purifying foaming cleanser which has now been discontinued. I am disappointed with this new formula. It’s the second product in this range that has been reformulated. I had such brilliant results with the foaming cleanser. Using this formula of the clearly corrective cleanser has left my skin with increased dryness and tightness. I’m not overly convinced that it has actually improved my skin. So am currently searching for an alternative from a different company. I really wish Kiehls had not discontinued the purifying foaming cleanser.

Bring back the old formula please
I love Kiehl's and have used this line for years but this is a total bust and I miss the old formula. The cap broke off on first use, and I can't dispense a small enough amount either based on the bottle design. And what is in it just is not a good formula. My skin doesn't feel clean and refreshed and that much exfoliant twice daily dries out my skin and it doesn't feel healthy like it used to. I also don't know whether exfoliating elements in it are environmentally friendly or if they are ocean killing microplastics. Please please please bring the old one back!!!!
